Abbey was brought up on a hill country farm east of Taihape. Before graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from Auckland University of Technology in 2021,
Abbey boarded at Feilding High School and then spent a year as a teaching assistant/coach at Llandovery College, Wales. She toured South Africa with the college, coaching netball and hockey as well as travelling around much of the UK and Europe. During her time at AUT, Abbey was involved with numerous sporting events as well as working with Northcote Rugby Club and more recently Te Kawau Rugby Club. As part of her training, she has spent time in private, medical and acute stroke based settings within the Whanganui DHB. Abbey is particularly interested in the musculoskeletal field with a passion for sports-related injuries and rehabilitation, inspired by sustaining sports injuries herself.
Abbey is looking forward to being closer to home and in her spare time, enjoys being with family and friends, water skiing, mountain biking and helping out on the farm.
