Mike Harnett – Director and Senior Physiotherapist

Mike completed a Bachelor of Physical Education at Otago University in 1979. He then owned and operated a gym in Palmerston North for 12 years. His interest in sports injuries led him to study Osteopathy in New Zealand and Physiotherapy at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, graduating in 1995. 

 

Kate Watson - Physiotherapist

Kate hails from the mighty Manawatu, calling Palmerston North home before heading down to Otago, completing her Physiotherapy degree in 2023. She had her student placements here in Palmy, where she dealt with a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological, and post-surgical patients, but she particularly enjoys sports-related injuries. During her time as a student, Kate had a placement here at Rehab Physio Centre, where she was taken under the wing of the residing senior physios and taught their ways.


Tara Pickering – Practice Manager

Tara hails from the northern most town of the Wairarapa Bush - Pahiatua. After completing a Diploma in Sports Science and Coaching she began work at Rehab Physio Centre as the Physio Assistant to Mike ‘Hurricane’ Harnett in 2001.

Ffion Barr- Administrator and Physio Assistant

Ffion is currently studying Sport and Exercise at Massey University and has joined the team part time while she completes her degree. You will find Ffion behind the desk in reception as an Administrator and also in the clinic working as a Physiotherapy Assistant. 

Keegan Harnett - Senior Physiotherapist

Keegan qualified with a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from Auckland University of Technology in 2015 and joined the RPC team full time in January 2016. Keegan pursued further study in recent years, completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Western Acupuncture from AUT in 2018 and in 2019 he spent the year in Perth, Australia completing a Clinic Masters in Sports Physiotherapy.                            

Jackson Harnett - Senior Physiotherapist

 Jackson is back from his extended stay in Australia and is due to start back from the 22nd July!

Jackson was born and raised in Palmerston North. He attended Otago University graduating with his physiotherapy degree in 2014. After three busy years working at Rehab Physio Centre he moved to Auckland to work and further his study at AUT.

Linda Simpson – Practice Manager/Physio Assistant

Linda completed her degree in Exercise and Sports Science in 2008. She joined RPC in February 2009 working part time as Mike’s assistant.

Emma Morrison - Part time Administrator

Emma is a student at PNGHS. She loves playing and watching sports, and plays netball and cricket and has played representative cricket for Manawatu. When she’s not playing sport or at school she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. 

Michael Cumming – Senior Physiotherapist and Clinical Director

Michael is a one-eyed Cantabrian married to Vicki and father of three.  He gained his physiotherapy degree at Otago University in 1996 and gained his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy in 2003. He is also a PAANZ registered acupuncturist.

 

 

Abbey Stratton Physiotherapist

 

 

**Abbey is currently having a wonderful OE at the moment and should be back on board in January2025**

 

Abbey was brought up on a hill country farm east of Taihape. Before graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from Auckland University of Technology in 2021, 

Chenae Collie - Administrator

Chenae is a Palmerston North born local, who enjoys travel and spending time relaxing in rural farmland surrounded by animals. After living in Perth for several years her passion for seeing the world exploded and she has since gone on to explore more of Australia and Fiji, Rarotonga and Thailand. When not looking through travel books, she is out on the farm treating her favourite animals to assorted fruits and veges (homegrown apples a favourite).

 

Mia Vitau - Part Time Administrator

Mia is studying at Palmerston North Girls’ High School. She is very passionate about sports. Throughout her years at school, she has been involved in many sports groups but currently focusing on athletics, specifically sprinting. She enjoys travelling, having visited Fiji, Australia and New Caledonia, and would love to travel the world once she leaves high school. Her family come from a strong rugby background, with both parents having played and now her sisters. She thoroughly enjoys watching Saturday rugby, with her family who are strong COB supporters
